Parkside Elementary School

A 14.2 acre site was carved out in the far south area of the district. Since the building of Parkside in 1959, that area has become saturated with homes. The seven classroom building was increased to fifteen within four years. A peak enrollment of 633 by 1968 is testimony to the growth in the area.   In 2009-2010 Parkide was rebuilt to be a new state of the art education facility.

Parkside Panther Mosaic

Parkside has a beautiful mosaic, depicting our mascot Parker Panther slinking through a field of brightly colored flowers.  It is installed on the wall by the Multipurpose.   Patrice Hardy, the PTA’s Art Docent Chair, is the creative talent behind the mosaic. She designed the piece, applied for and received a small grant to create it, and spent many days and nights painstakingly grouting into place the tiny chips of tile that compose this intricate artwork.

Next time you are at the school, please take a moment to view the mosaic. Questions or comments? Contact Patrice at pjaahardy@comcast.net.
