PTA-Sponsored Events at Parkside This Year

Did you know?
Because of its fund-raising efforts and volunteers, the Parkside PTA made the following programs possible at our school this year:

Art Docent - This program is run entirely by Parkside PTA. We buy the supplies, provide the lesson plans and materials, and recruit parent volunteers to teach art in the classrooms. Without the PTA, Parkside children would have limited art instruction.

Field Trips - Each year, the PTA donates $5,000 to the school to help pay transportation costs so children in each class can participate in at least one field trip.

Spring Carnival - Run by PTA volunteers with lots of help from our local community, this is a break-even event designed to bring people together for an evening of fun carnival games, music, inflatables, and great food!

Reflections Art Program – Reflections provides opportunities for students to express themselves and to receive positive recognition for their artistic efforts.

Sixth Grade Fundraising for Camp Waskowitz – Butterbraid sales give all students the opportunity to raise money for Camp

Box Tops for Education

ps from hundreds of General Mills products. Look for the pink square, cut it out, and turn in to your child’s teacher. Those box tops add up to contest winnings for your class! For every little hot pink cardboard tag returned to General Mills, our school earns 10 cents. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but they add up. Schools in the area have been know to earn $1000, $2000 and more in a school year. For more information or a complete list of all participating products, go to www.boxtops4education.com. While there, register to be a Box Tops Booster club member supporting Parkside Elementary. You’ll get special savings, and our school received money for every booster club member.

Campbell's Labels

Remove the front portion of the label that shows the name of the soup and ounces, then send it to Parkside. Visit www.labelsforeducation.com for a full list of brands that participate.

Campbell's e-Labels for Education is a new feature of Labels for Education that allows points to be deposited into Parkside's account without clipping any UPCs! By creating an account through elabelsforeducation.com, entering your Fred Meyer or QFC shopper's card number (or your phone number), and purchasing Campbell's eligible brands products, we can earn FREE educational merchandise, such as software, sports equipment, musical instruments, library books and art supplies. Printer Cartridge and Cell Phone Recycling

Parkside collects and recycles printer ink cartridges and cell phones. This program helps earn money for student activities and encourages recycling. Send in empty ink cartridges and cell phones to the Family Center.

Target REDcard

Target has a terrific way to raise funds for our school. All you have to do is use your Target^® Visa^® or Target^® Card. Parkside will receive a percentage of the amount of each purchase in the form of a cash donation from Target through the Take Charge of Education^® program. It's easy. Just visit target.com/tcoe, or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school. So if you're going to Target anyway, please consider using your Target^® Visa^® or Target^® Card. Big thanks to those who are already doing their part to make a great school even better.

Want to earn 5% in credit for your school to use towards FREE supplies? Office Depot can take care of that:

Shop at Office Depot for your school supplies
Be sure to provide Parkside’s 5% Back to Schools ID number (70106244) each time you make a purchase. If you are at Office Depot and you don’t have the ID number handy, just ask the clerk to look it up for you
Office Depot will total the qualifying purchases* made during each program period
